The Big Bang

Hello and welcome to what I hope will become an interesting (if not insightful) read into a world of Astronomy, Radio scanning, distributed computing and general technology.

I've decided to create this blog for a number of reasons; the main being that I have undertaken numerous personal "projects" outside of my day job, often with the help of close friends and family. Each has required a substantial amount of time, creativity, and persistence, often with no final end objective other than the aquisition of new knowledge, a sense of achievement and perhaps a feeling of "giving back" to the scientific community. It is my hope that I can share some of my experiences, successes and failures.

The Author

I have a formal background in Computer Science, obtained from the University of Greenwich in 2009. Since leaving university, I started a job in Software Engineering where I still currently reside nearly four years on. Working in this role has given me exposure to some incredible minds, which has allowed me to bounce ideas and concepts off of people who I would never have otherwise met. Additionally I have recently achieved Incorporated Engineer status with the Institute of Engineering and Technology (February 2013).

Soon to Come...
This blog is currently in its early inception phases, so please bear with me as I create a logical structure and create order from the chaos. Ultimately, I aim to split this blog into subsections, consisting of the following:

-Linux and Distributed Computing (Seti@Home)
-General Astronomy
-Radio Scanning
-Other Technology/Assorted
